Ground Worker Job Description:
Requirements:
Must be 18+, follow all safety procedures,be drug-free, and hold a valid driver's license(ideally Class A)
Expectations:
Participate in job briefings.
Choose, inspect, service, and load equipment appropriate for the job.
Inspect and drive work vehicles, trailers, and other related equipment.
Operate and maintain chainsaws.
Choose, inspect, and service Personal Protective Equipment.
Assist the climber or lift operator with lowering limbs and managing ropes, clearing the dropzone, sending up tools, etc.
Install climbing and rigging lines in the tree.
Correctly tie a variety of knots suited to the tasks at hand.
Identify trees you work with on a daily basis along with their unique traits.
Lift, carry, and drag heavy loads: tree limbs, trunk wood, and gear.
Safe use and operation of chainsaws for basic tree felling, to cut up limbs, logs, and downed trees.
Safely use equipment such as wood chippers, stump grinders, and material handlers to move and process bio mass.
Identifiy work site hazards and obstacles and take appropriate steps to protect people and property.
Talk to customers in a personable and knowledgeable manner.
Respond to emergency situations such as storm damage work.
Respond to work-related injuries by performing basic first aid or CPR.
Cleaning up the jobsite.
