DescriptionSPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:Manages and schedules labor, equipment and materials to accomplish production schedules within established budgets. Maintains strict adherence to established schedules and budgets.UnderstandsGardening and Urban Landcareproject plan specifications and ensures they are met and maintain customerssatisfaction.Make necessary production decisions with emphasis on Quality, Efficiency, and Integrity.ProvidesGardening and Urban Landcareproject plansto Crew Leadsat the start of the day and provides instruction and oversight to ensure Crew Leadsand Crewsare prepared to complete the job.Ensures all work is completed in adherence to safety policies and guidelines. Conducts regular safetymeetings andinspectionswith assigned staff.Visit job sites on a regular basis, observing organization of work, identifying and resolving training issues, and taking necessary actions to ensure quality.Maintain day-to-day working knowledge of allworkin progress, including field completion status, billings to date in Company’s CRM program for assigned branch.Monitors job costs and reports toVP Operations any jobs deviating from budgets, schedules,costs, or any other factors soappropriateadjustments can be made to maximize end results.Investigates any accident or safety violation, prepares appropriate reports, takesactionto correct and prevent future occurrences. Defines and implements solutions to reoccurring accidents or more common safety concerns.Maintains proper inventory of materials, equipment andensuresother supplies are on hand to completeGardening and Urban Landcareproduction activities.Order materials, equipment and supplies as needed within purchasing limits.Implement and document all training of assigned teammembersConducts timely performance discussions and takes corrective actions when appropriate.Supervise employees, keeping attendance records, enforcing proper uniform and safety equipment use, and approving timecards.Partners with Operations Manager and Human Resources with overall human resource management of field staff withinthe Gardening and Urban Landcareservice line. Includes hiring, training, coaching, mentoring and developing staff to reach potential and established goals for individual andGardening and Urban Landcareservice line. Identifies and developsUrban LandcareCrew Leads.Maintainsufficientstaff to accomplishGardening and Urban Landcareproduction schedules for assigned branch and analyzes future needs, forecasting staff and material needs to complete future jobs.Responsible for the organization, cleaning, and basic upkeep of the facility as well as assigned equipment andvehicles.Assist with security arrangements at all facilities including, but not limited to, the daily start/finish of assignedGardening and Urban Landcareservice line personnel, equipment, vehicles, and other assets, and employee access to the lot and building.WORKING CONDITIONS:Must maintain regular and reliable attendance at a level acceptable to the company, including the ability to work extendedworkhoursas necessary.Must have the ability to perform manual labor including repeated physical bending, kneeling, squatting, andliftingupto50 poundsindependently.Ability to maintain personal appearance and grooming, as detailed in Employee Handbook and Professionalism Guidelines.Adheres to Employer expectations regarding conduct as specified in the Employee Handbook andProfessionalism Guidelines.EQUIPMENT/MACHINERY USED:ComputersGeneral Office equipmentCellular PhonesMachinery such as trucks, and trailersOther equipment asneededSEASONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide field estimates for assignedGardening andUrbanLandcareprojectsPlan, prepare, route, staffing, equipmentandmaterialsProvide quality assuranceofGardening andUrbanLandcareprojectsby checking random customer siteswhenever possible and observing work of assignedcrewsMaintain appropriate inventories ofmaterials for assignedGardening andUrbanLandcareprojectsProvide trainingincompetent operationsof all tractors, trucks, trailers, and service lineequipmentProvide training inlandscape techniques of planting trees/shrubs, andother various landscapingtasksDAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:Work with and assist Field Supervisors with any routingor scheduling work issues.Monitor and direct crew activitiesfor branch departure eachmorningEnsure crews have all equipment and supplies needed for dailyworkInfluence positive attitude of staff through effective use ofinterpersonalskillsCheck properties and spot checkcrewsCoordinate and execute requests fromaccountmanagersCompletework inprogressupdates and workcompletion statusinAspireWEEKLYRESPONSIBILITIES:Conductweekly safety meeting with assignedstaffAttendbi-monthly Operations/Production meetingMonitor facilities lots, trucks and trailers for cleanliness andorganizationMonitor labor hours and adjust asneededRequirementsJOB REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor’s degreein Horticulture/Turf Management and/or2-3years directly relevant experience.Advanced knowledgeinplant and tree identification,interiorscapes, gardening,andurbanlandcare.Landscape Certification from MNLA or PLANETis preferred.Experienced in business management, including basic accounting skills and knowledge of computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite and Aspire desired).Excellent communication and organizational skills.Excellent listening and problem-solving skills.Current driver’s license and ability to maintain cleandriving record with DOT Certification.
