Spot Weld, Inc. is a small manufacturing company (8–10 employees) that has been in business since 1973. We design and build machinery for metal joining, and we also support the industry with consumables, parts, and service.
In the role of Engineering Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the manufacturing and delivery of new and pre-existing machinery projects. We are looking for someone who may not yet have a particular specialty in machine building or project management but is eager to learn and develop the necessary skills to succeed.
At Spot Weld, we handle everything in-house, from concept to build. This is a great opportunity to see your ideas come to life.
Some of your daily tasks will include:
-
Product design: producing CAD models and drawings, managing Bills of Material, creating timelines, ordering parts, tracking costs, and evaluating in-house vs. out-of-house fabrication decisions.
Project management: ensuring projects meet schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
Establishing and maintaining effective timelines.
Managing manufacturing staff through meetings and goals, supporting design and fabrication inquiries, and helping to set priorities.
Communicating with suppliers, contractors, and vendors.
Shipping and receiving tasks.
Hands-on manufacturing: experience in assembling or other skilled tasks like electrical panel layouts, machining, welding, or painting is a bonus.
Requirements:
-
Basic understanding of 3D modeling (SolidWorks): ability to create simple parts, assemblies, and drawing files (proficiency is a significant bonus).
Familiarity with MS Office Suite and MS Project.
While a BSME is not required, trade-school education or related experience is preferred.
Overall, applicants should have a desire to develop a thorough understanding of our machinery and projects, and the ability to assist in carrying projects from design to completion. You must also be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment, spending time on the shop floor, and collaborating closely with electrical and mechanical assembly teams.
Ideal candidates will possess:
-
Strong multitasking and problem-solving skills.
An ability to adapt to a versatile and diverse job description.
Good follow-through and resourcefulness.
