Fermentation & Recovery Operator
Unique opportunity for the right individual in Shakopee.
Growing microbial fermentation facility looking for help in the production/fermentation area of the business. Food grade facility producing probiotics for humans, animals and agriculture.
Four-day work week. (4 x 10-hour days)
Two different shifts Monday – Thursday 6am-4:30 pm with the ability to work earlier or later if required.
Wednesday- Saturday 6am – 4:30 with the ability to work earlier or later if required.
Pay differential for the W-Sat schedule.

PTO Days – start with 14 days prorated from start date. 1 day added for each year for max of 24 days. In addition, currently closed Christmas through New Years with pay.

Experience preferred in any or all of fermentation, fluid processing (drinks, fuels, oils, food, etc…) centrifugation, or spray drying. Training will be provided for the right candidate.
Experience in a food grade production facility helpful.
Has demonstrated history of steady work experience
We will provide training for the right candidate in all areas of the production facility.
Fermentation - will include (but not be limited to) CIP (clean-in-place) of fermentation vessels and equipment, sterilization of vessels and equipment, weighing and blending ingredients, and monitoring fermentation parameters.
Centrifuge - will include (but not be limited to) disassembly and cleaning of centrifuge, reassembly, operation of centrifuge (8-16 hours), and monitoring centrifuge parameters throughout.
Spray dryer - will include (but not be limited to) disassembly and cleaning of spray dryer, reassembly, operation of spray dryer, and monitoring spray dryer parameters throughout.
Boiler License - Will be required to have or be able to obtain Special Engineer Boiler License as an employee. We will pay for classes and all fees.
Maintenance tasks will include (but not be limited to) disassembling, reassembling, and lubrication of pumps, valves, piping, motors, and equipment.
May be required to troubleshoot low voltage electrical equipment.
Will perform warehousing tasks, e.g. loading/unloading trucks, inventories, preparing shipments, forklift etc.
Past work or basic understanding of food grade facilities and requirements a plus.
