Job Summary: A manual machinist specializing in fixture machining, assembly and design. This role involves fabricating, modifying, or repairing mechanical instruments and fixtures, ensuring high-quality production and adherence to specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Weld Fixture Assembly: Assemble, modify, and repair fixtures, jigs, and tools used in the manufacturing process.

Manual Machining: Operate manual machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and shapers to machine parts.

Blueprint Interpretation: Work from blueprints, job traveler process sheets, and sketches to perform production tasks.

Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues with machining operations and equipment.

Maintenance: Perform routine machine maintenance and minor repairs.

Communication: Collaborate with supervisor and production employees to understand the purpose of part assemblies and recommend design modifications.

Qualifications:

Experience: 5+ years of experience in manual machining. Weld fixture design and assembly is a plus.

Skills:

Proficiency in using precision tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gage blocks).

Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals.

Strong attention to detail.

Excellent manual dexterity and accuracy.

Good communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift heavy items and stand for extended periods.

Manual dexterity and strength to handle tools and materials.
