Metal Finishers are responsible for introducing architectural finish to raw materials and blending welded product to create a seamless, consistent finish across all welded joints.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Deburr finished product to ensure safe handling
-Introduce linear or circumferential grain to raw material using a timesaver, tube grinder, or other handheld pneumatic tools to achieve project-specified finish requirements
-Blend existing grain of material to be continuous throughout weld joint by selecting appropriate tools and consumables in compliance with project specifications and/or applicable NOMMA standards
-Review blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications and sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece and sequence of operations
-Inspect quality of manufactured product to ensure specification compliance
-Maintain a safe and well-organized working environment and follow all safety procedures outlined in the safety manual
-Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
-At least one year of experience in a metal fabrication shop
-Basic metal finishing knowledge
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
-3-5 years of experience in directional metal finishing on architectural rails
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
-Ability to stand/walk up to 10 hours a day, 5-6 days a week
-Ability to lift 50 pounds, unassisted
