Job Title: Mobile Market Coordinator

Location: WBAFS – 1884 Whitaker Street, White Bear Lake, MN

Terms: Full Time, 40 hrs/week, Flexible schedule required. Monday through Friday.

Salary/Rate: $22/hour

Description: Join our team as a Mobile Market Coordinator! Drive impactful, community-based food programs such as mobile programs at senior living facilities and local produce markets to address mobility barriers to accessing food. Lead enthusiastic volunteers, ensure smooth operations, and deliver culturally connected, nutritious food to our neighbors. Role: The Mobile Market Coordinator will drive our mobile market programs that specifically address barriers related to mobility and transportation. These programs include Kid Packs, produce fairs and offsite markets. This role will lead, coordinate, and adapt our mobile programs in providing nutritious, culturally connected, and abundant food and support to our community. The Mobile Market Coordinator will supervise a dedicated crew of volunteers and create a rewarding experience for those who are providing direct services to our neighbors. This person will also lead designated donation sorting shifts.

Responsibilities:

· Coordinate all logistics to ensure organized implementation of the mobile market programs, i.e. signage, transportation flow, record-keeping, communications, shopping process and flow, supplies, etc.

· Collaborate with the White Bear Lake Area School District and coordinate the packing and distribution of Kid Packs and Pantry Programs.

· Work alongside the Food Systems Coordinator to ensure food options match neighbor needs.

· Drive, load, and unload the Food Shelf Truck to and from Mobile Market programs and other food shelf sites.

· Lead offsite Mobile Markets and Produce Markets and create an engaging, positive experience for volunteers and neighbors.

· Lead designated donation sorting shifts at the food shelf.

· Train and supervise Mobile Market volunteers.

· Understand and incorporate neighbors’ desired experience, food, and support from the food shelf.

· Serve as the primary liaison between food shelf staff and Mobile Market shoppers, site contacts, and volunteers at various locations throughout the White Bear community.

· Schedule regular maintenance checkups and ensure regular upkeep of the Food Shelf Truck.

· Conduct regular evaluations of Mobile Market programs to improve service.

· Ensure accurate records and statistics are maintained.

· Support other food shelf programs, events, and operations.

Qualifications:

· Capacity to meet the daily challenges of a physically demanding position (e.g. repeated lifting of over 50 pounds, on your feet majority of the day, pallet jack operation, maneuvering of heavily loaded carts)

· Work includes operating in all kinds of weather.

· High school, GED, or equivalent diploma

· Ability to obtain a DOT license within 7 days of the start of employment

· One to two years of nonprofit, warehouse, grocery store, or retail experience preferred.

· Bilingual - English and Spanish/Hmong preferred.
