Assist a retired blind professor with a wide variety of tasks. Excellent computer skills with excel, MS word, adobe, IPAD apps, videography, social media and more are required. The ability to learn, assist with and/or teach the use of assistive technology such as the accessibility features of a cell phone are required. Some odd jobs such as repairing household items, hanging pictures, cleaning, tending houseplants and garden greenery etc. Some driving to events on Saturday/Sundays/evenings needed occasionally. Good ability to read aloud and to summarize is needed as well as the ability to edit documents. Good research skills and the ability to use youtube to teach yourself new skills is helpful. English language proficiency is a must. The work is performed in a private home where cats and dogs are present and are not always well behaved. There are horses on the property; they are not part of the job, but they are a presence. Good candidates are curious, organized, thorough, diligent, patient, reliable, on time and honest. Interest in and willingness to learn about psychology, grant writing, government processes, family social sciences, feminism, videography, progressive politics, disability rights and a good sense of humor is a must.
