Estimator/Project Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Estimator / Project Manager to join our clients team. This dual-role position is responsible for estimating project costs, preparing bids, and managing construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general construction, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to oversee multiple projects while ensuring quality, cost control, and adherence to schedules.

This position is in Grand Rapids, MN and is open for relocation!

Key Responsibilities: The position will bid all work across the board for a team of 6 Project Managers and will manage their own projects as capacity allows.

Estimating Duties:

Reviewing bid requirements and ensuring compliance with client specifications.

Analyzing project specifications, drawings, and blueprints to determine material, labor, and equipment costs.

Preparing bid proposals, quotes, and tender submissions.

Coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors to gather pricing and availability details.

Working closely with architects, engineers, project managers, and clients.

Presenting estimates and justifications to stakeholders.

Identifying potential risks that could impact project costs and timelines.

Factoring contingencies into estimates to address unforeseen circumstances.

Using estimation software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, CostX) and spreadsheets for calculations.

Maintaining an organized database of pricing, industry trends, and historical cost data for reference.

Project Management Duties:

Oversee and manage construction projects from planning to completion.

Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.

Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, project superintendents, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Ensure compliance with safety regulations, permits, and company policies.

Monitor project progress, address challenges, and implement solutions.

Attend weekly construction meetings to ensure quality control and adherence to project plans.

Track project expenses, approve invoices, and manage change orders.

Provide regular progress reports to stakeholders.

Qualifications:

2+ years of experience in construction estimating and project management.

Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.

Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, ProEst, PlanSwift) and project management tools.

Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Strong work ethic and a commitment to integrity in dealing with clients, and co-workers.

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required).
