Pipestone County Medical Center and Family Clinic is currently seeking to find a Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist OR Medical Laboratory Technician to join our growing team. We are committed to providing high quality services to our southwest Minnesota community.Job Duties:Under the direction of the Lab Manager, a MLT performs work of waived moderate and high complexitylevels, involving all aspects of the clinical lab. The MLT utilizes scientific principles as well as technical,procedural and problem-solving aptitudes for day-to-day Laboratory technical operations, qualitycontrol, quality assurance, procedure/instrument maintenance and corrective action, test resultcorrelation, and clinical laboratory related duties.Under the direction of the Lab Manager, the Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist performs a variety of clinical laboratory tests,procedures, and related duties including waived, moderate and highly complex testing. Utilizes scientific principles as well as technical,procedural, and problem-solving aptitudes for day-today laboratory technical operations, quality control, quality assurance,procedure/instrument maintenance and corrective action, test result correlation, and clinical laboratory related continuing education.Education/Licensure:Associate’s degree in MLT or laboratory science from an accredited two-year college or technical schoolrequired or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in clinical science orsatisfactory grade in HHS exam and 6 years working experience as a MLT required. MLT-ASCP boardcertified or NCA certified preferred. BLS certified or must be obtained within 1 week of hire. BreathAlcohol Testing (BAT) and DOT Drug Testing certified or able to obtain within one year from date of hire.Department of Transportation Specimen Collection Certificate preferred or able to obtain within oneyear from date of hire. Valid driver’s license required.The starting hourly pay for this position is $32.36 per hour for a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist and $28.80 per hour for a Medical Laboratory Technician.
