Description We are offering an exciting opportunity in the Financial Services industry based in Plymouth, Minnesota. The role involves tasks related to the position of Linux Systems Administrator, where the selected candidate will be handling system administration and working closely in a team environment. Responsibilities Install, upgrade, and maintain Enterprise Linux systems. Configure Linux systems across different environments, primarily using Puppet. Maintain and enhance monitoring infrastructure, utilizing tools like Nagios, Smokeping, and Prometheus. Provide infrastructure support for software installation, patching, and maintenance using open-source tools such as Puppet and Foreman. Support Linux-based infrastructure including ZFS file servers, SQL servers, and backup solutions. Use Python scripting for various administrative tasks. Experience with source control systems such as Git, code review and deployment. Handle enterprise applications such as databases, storage and server systems, virtualization. Ensure the smooth running of the systems, identifying and rectifying any potential issues. Collaborate with the team to ensure all systems are running efficiently. Requirements Extensive knowledge and experience in Linux system administration Proficiency in Python and Python scripting Familiarity with Puppet automation tool Ability to troubleshoot complex system issues Strong understanding of networking protocols and principles Experience in managing and maintaining servers in a financial services environment Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work under pressure Knowledge of information security standards and best practices Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is preferred Relevant professional certifications such as RHCE or LPIC are advantageous.
