Description We are on the hunt for a dedicated Accounts Payable Specialist to be a part of our team. As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will primarily focus on the processing of invoices within our accounts payable system, ensure accurate financial reporting, and handle a variety of accounting tasks. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices in the accounts payable system Monitor and report monthly operating statistics Record manual journal entries at the end of each month Provide clerical-level accounting support and manage related administrative tasks Utilize Microsoft Excel for data management and analysis Perform accounting functions and tasks as needed Process checks and manage accounts payable (AP) Conduct data entry tasks and manage discrepancies Handle coding of invoices and account reconciliation Manage approved invoices and handle invoice processing Oversee and manage financial accruals.Requirements Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required, as it will be used for various tasks including data entry and account reconciliation. Demonstrated experience in accounting functions, specifically in the transport industry, is essential. Must possess a solid understanding of Accounts Payable (AP) processes and principles. Experience in check processing is necessary to manage payments efficiently. Skilled in data entry with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in invoices and other financial documents. Familiarity with coding invoices, ensuring correct categorization for each expense. Proficient in account reconciliation, balancing and maintaining accurate ledgers. Experience in handling approved invoices, ensuring they match purchase orders and receipts. Knowledge of invoice processing is crucial, including reviewing, verifying, and processing invoices for payment. Understanding of accruals, specifically in recording and reporting financial transactions.
