The Warehouse Lead coordinates and leads the activities of the associates who are shipping, receiving, stocking, pulling orders, kit building, cycle counting and processing DC transfers.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Manage floor operations; handle questions and problems that arise; order supplies as needed; prioritize and assign work load; quality and quantity control of work.
Effectively supervise, instruct, develop, train and motivate warehouse staff.
Ability to oversee all warehouse functions as needed, such as the company WMS, parcel and unit shipping, receiving, will call and returns.
Coordinate the activities of the warehouse with the activities of sales, purchasing, and other departments to ensure availability of merchandise.
Provide supervision of warehouse employees, scheduling and payroll back-up, including when necessary, conducting verbal and written warnings.
Establish and maintain operational procedures for verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of merchandise, and accurate keeping of warehouse inventory.
Ensure that the warehouse meets all mandated safety requirements and Company policies and procedures.
Ability to actively listen, seek information, and ask questions to ensure the understanding of the underlying concerns of others.
Ability to understand issues and make systematic and rational judgments based on relevant information.
Performs other duties as assigned. Ability to work overtime as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
Education: High School diploma or equivalency.
Experience: 3+ years of warehouse supervision related experience.
Computer Skills: Proficiency in use of MS Word, Excel, Outlook and CRMs
Knowledge and Personal Attributes:
Strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail
Ability to work well in a team environment
Ability to prioritize daily work load and direct accordingly. Strong problem-solving skills.
Proven experience in effectively working in a highly stressful and driven environment.
Able to meet all mandated safety requirements and Company policies and procedures.
Physical requirements:
Capable of lifting/carrying up to 75 lbs.
Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, and stretch.
Must be able to work at heights (up to 20 feet).
Must be able to work in environment where air temperature varies due to outdoor weather changes (i.e. hot in summer, cold in winter).
