QA Technician

Job Descriptiono Weigh finished products in specified intervals; record deviations from standard; inform Production Supervisor to make proper weight adjustments. o To examine packaging labels to assure that the correct labels are being used for the product being manufactured (correct UPC for the item number, allergen statement is present, code date, etc.). o To examine package fabrication of pouches, cartons and shipping containers to ensure their quality.o To examine code dates on pouches, cartons and shipping containers to ensure their accuracy.o Knowledge of hold/release procedure for nonconforming product or packaging. o Knowledge of SQF standards, HACCP & Food Safety initiative’s.o Working familiarity with GMP and other food safety standards including HACCPo To perform hourly metal detector checks for potential foreign material in product (CCP).o To perform Critical Quality Point (CQP’s) checks.o Sensory evaluation of ingredients and finished products for Quality.o To perform Allergen Control and necessary swab verifications.o To perform Chemical Analysis/Test on ingredients and finished goods.o To perform & record QA verifications and QA document controls.o To perform Microbiological sampling, plating & results interpretation on ingredients/raw materials, finished goods and Environmental monitoring.o To perform Production process verificationso To perform Raw Material Ingredients sampling per the QA Procedureso To perform Ingredient Tanker receiving and sample analysis such as Viscosity, Brix and Etc.o Knowledge of Good Lab Practices and ordering/maintaining Lab supplies inventory.Additional Skills & Qualifications:BS in a scientific concentration (within food quality is best)OR A.S in scientific concentration with 1= years of experienceAbility to speak, read and write EnglishExperience with Microsoft applications (Xcel, Word, Office, etc)Must be fine working in an environment that handles allergenic material (Milk, Soy, Eggs, Wheat, Peanut and Tree Nuts)Ability to cover additional shifts when needed (potentially have to float to 2nd shift for random coverage)To receive a phone screen request, please send resume directly to mshenouda@actalentservices.com.About Actalent Actalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
