RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Systems Infrastructure Architect in Saint Paul, MN.
Essential Duties:
Lead/participate in resolution of complex z/OS performance problems
Use SAS and/or MXG to develop reports for performance analysis
Provide consulting services for z/OS performance and capacity initiatives
Support and maintain ThruPut Manager to provide batch job balancing across systems
Monitor system performance and identify potential issues before they become a problem
Create and maintain system configuration documentation
Build and maintain performance databases
Tune WLM to meet business objectives
Collaborate and communicate well with others
Suggest tuning setting for various systems and processes
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
At least 7 years' experience with mainframe technologies
Extensive experience in:
Mainframe technologies
JCL Batch processing
Technical troubleshooting of mainframe performance issues
Understanding of SMF processing
Mainframe performance tuning and sizing
Statistical and data mining of performance and audit data
Subject matter expert in:
z/OS technologies and logic
Subsystems such as CICS, IMS, JES2, and DB2
SAS Programming and report generation
Knowledge of Workload Management (WLM) on z/OS
Monitoring performance of z/OS systems and tasks using tools such as RMF and Mainview
Produce reports using desktop solutions such as Excel
Understanding of mainframe hardware and components
Database processing for IMS and DB2
