Job Description:Role Summary/Purpose:This leader will play a key role within the Platform Compliance Center of Excellence team, driving change and enhancements to compliance processes, providing strategic thought leadership, creating trusted relationships with cross functional business leaders, providing oversight and effective challenge of current and emerging risks and being the subject matter expertise in assigned area. The COE supports many processes, for all platforms and products, including client incentives, client training, issue management, promotional financing, POS processes, field sales and new client implementation. Each member of the COE provides subject matter expertise on certain processes while also cross training and gaining exposure to other possesses on which they are not the principal subject matter expert.Our Way of WorkingWe're proud to offer you choice and flexibility. Occasionally you may be required to commute to our nearest office for in person engagement activities such as business or team meetings, training and culture events.Essential Responsibilities:

Enhance and build effective second line of defense compliance governance and credible challenge processes utilizing strategic thought leadership to evolve the CD/Sales compliance program.

As part of Compliance COE, provide compliance oversight and subject matter expertise for functions/teams supporting client development & sales processes including but not limited to applications and transactions, promotional offerings, client sales incentives, client training and client oversight.

Serve as a subject matter expert on laws and regulations and lead continued process and control enhancements, communications and execution of the CD/Sales COE strategy.

Ensure that the business embeds effective tools, systems and controls for analyzing and monitoring regulatory and operational risks by providing: (i) oversight and expert guidance to first line business owners on risks and appropriate controls; (ii) providing credible challenge of first line risk control self-assessments.

Lead the second line of defense compliance risk assessment for applicable CD/Sales processes, including formal assessments of inherent risk factors and control rating factors, in accordance with the enterprise compliance program

Establish effective relationships and collaborate with individuals across the Risk organization that have oversight responsibility in assigned areas to unify the picture of Risk.

Work collaboratively with the Legal Department and business leaders to identify risks associated with new and existing laws and regulations, products, processes, systems, clients and services.

Support the Compliance CD/Sales COE by providing ongoing assessments of risk including articulating the current and emerging risks associated with CD/Sales processes including in-depth targeted reviews of first line business processes and controls.

Assist first-line business partners in identifying, documenting and remediating issues related to defects in CD/Sales processes; assist with root cause analysis. Ensure significant risks and issues are promptly escalated, themes identified, and appropriate actions taken.

Provide expertise on an ongoing basis on compliance requirements with knowledge of how those requirements apply across Synchrony's business platforms and an ability to problem solve in partnership with the first line.

Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree or relevant work experience, with 5+ years in Compliance, process control, Risk management, surveillance or deep experience in a business function focused on Point-of-Sale or other sales process activities; or in lieu of a degree 7+ years' experience in the areas of focus previously cited.

Grade/Level: 12The salary range for this position is 110,000.00 - 185,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.Eligibility Requirements:

You must be 18 years or older

You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
