This position is designated as part-time and primarily Day / Evening shift. The work schedule will include at least 64 hours per two-week pay period and may include additional work hours, based on business needs. The position is initially eligible for full employer contribution towards health and dental insurance benefits.This position will provide care for residents by assessing needs, assisting and encouraging their social and emotional well-being, and implementing orders and routines. Report and interpret observations and resident behaviors. Communicate nursing and health care concerns to supervisor. Maintain resident charts and records. Coordinate the activities of the nursing unit to maintain consistency in resident care delivery and unit functions. Follow health and safety rules to ensure the security.Minimum Qualifications
Licensed in Minnesota as a Registered Nurse, in good standing
Knowledge of nursing practices and techniques sufficient to provide effective nursing care for residents
Skill in establishing and maintaining positive working relationships
Effective communication skills sufficient to provide and instructions
Computer experience sufficient to complete electronic charting and use basic computer functions such as email
Ability to make decisions within the scope of nursing responsibilities
Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of nursing care provided by other staff, make or recommend changes, and provide mentoring
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
Ability to teach self-help skills to residents
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a skilled nursing facility
Long-term care experience
Geriatric care experience
Experience with MDS assessments

A Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) background check may be conducted on the top finalist(s) for the position(s). When conducted, a finalist must pass the DHS background check.
