ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE POSITION:

Answers switchboard and connects calls in a prompt, courteous manner.

Provides efficient service in receiving and distributing calls, paging.

Maintains a log of phone problems, and reports any situations which need attention to the appropriate department and/or individual.

With a working knowledge of proper emergency procedures, administers same over the intercom in a calm, clear voice, as needed.

Contacts in-house Security and Emergency Medical Technicians as needed, and calls for help from outside agencies (Police, Fire Department, etc.) when deemed necessary, to report emergency situations.

Effectively resolves minor Guest conflicts/complaints, in a fair and equitable manner, or refer matter to the appropriate department or individual, for proper resolution.

Maintains a working knowledge of Grand Casino facilities, current and upcoming special events, in order to advise Guests and fellow Associates of same, whenever possible.

Performs clerical duties, such as typing, copying, and faxing.

Monitors radio communications, and contact various areas of casino or hotel through the radio system and pagers.

Responsible for maintaining a consistent and regular attendance record.

All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) or pass the Basic Skills Assessment.

One year Telephone experience preferred.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be able to pass company pre-employment Drug and Alcohol test.

Must be able to secure license from Gaming Regulatory Authority.

Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process.

Responsible for following all relevant DGR’s.
