SUMMARY:
This role serves as a strategically influential role to support all Associates who may need services from the Talent team. This position will become a “part of” the operations leadership team they support, while balancing their work so they can provide unbiased insights and guidance to Associates and Leaders to drive workplace problem resolutions, engagement, retention and leadership development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE POSITION:

Effective verbal and written communicator who can observe, influence and coach people
Trustworthy and collaborative relationships with department leaders who rely on you for problem solving, insights and guidance
Deep understanding of department goals, balanced scorecard measurement
Act as an advocate for Talent strategies that further support the department’s needs
Member of business unit leader staff meetings
Present human capital metrics regularly for their business units
Regular leader coaching to stretch leader capabilities to meet MLCV strategy and values
One stop shop for business leaders to request strategies and support from Talent team
Initiate compendium process and move to recruiting for talent acquisition follow through
Represents the business unit(s) within Talent team and advocates for their needs
Balances business unit requests with enterprise wide priorities, impacts, and strategies
Facilitates talent reviews (9 box, criticality mapping, etc.)
Facilitates, advises and documents succession plans
Works with high potential associates and leaders on individual development plans
Introduces new Talent programs to leadership and Associate teams
Facilitates operational regulatory compliance and equitable treatment of all Associates
Policy Interpretation
First tier facilitation of workplace conflicts and complaints prior to escalating to Associate Relations
Partner with Associate Relations leader as needed
Sets clear expectations for the outcome of projects in assigned areas of responsibility.
Assists in developing and updating job skills courses and checklists for assigned areas of responsibility.
Displays a high level of maturity, discretion, tact, judgment and the ability to deal with confidential matters.
Openness to collaborate with other Talent team specialists and Associate Relations leader
Ability to navigate cultural and political paths within the organization to influence the success of Talent strategies
Ability to conduct 1st level investigations, provide 3rd party objective guidance to resolve

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Associates degree in Human Resources/Education, Business Administration, Development or related fields.
Or six (6) years equivalent combination of education, consulting or experience required.
One (1) year experience in a leadership role preferred.
Two (2) years of performance consulting experience preferred.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be able to clearly explain and demonstrate concepts and skills to others.
Must be able to secure license from Gaming Regulatory Authority.
Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process.
