In this role you will identify, coordinate, facilitate, and document statewide programmatic initiatives among internal and external stakeholders working to reduce the burden of cancer in Minnesota. These initiatives are central to the work of CCCP as they support the implementation of the Minnesota Cancer Plan. Job responsibilities for this role include but aren’t limited to:
Build capacity of CCCP to coordinate, expand, and sustain the Minnesota Cancer Alliance (MCA).
Assist with the development of MCA/CCCP strategic goals.
Support the development, update, and implementation of the Minnesota Cancer Plan.
Act as a team lead.
This position is eligible for telework to applicants who reside in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota or South Dakota. Position locations will be determined by the top candidate and will be based out one of the following MDH district office locations: St. Paul, St. Cloud, Duluth, Rochester, Marshall, Bemidji, Fergus Falls.Minimum QualificationsTo facilitate proper crediting, please ensure that your resume/application clearly describes your experience in the areas listed below and indicates the beginning and ending month and year for each job held. Only applicants whose resumes clearly demonstrate fulfillment of each of these minimum qualifications will be considered for this position.Three (3) years of experience in cancer control, prevention and research establishing effective working relationships with community members. Experience should also include providing technical assistance and training using standard computer software programs and evaluation of technical reports and planning documents.Qualifications to be further assessed during the interview process:
Familiarity with engagement strategies.
Knowledge of principles and practices of research and analysis to understand study designs.
Knowledge of barriers and challenges of health equity.
Ability to work independently, manage time, workload, and priorities with minimal supervision.
Ability to demonstrate decision-making, problem-solving and conflict resolution.
Ability to write, edit, and organize material from diverse sources to prepare comprehensive documents.
A related master's degree may substitute for eighteen (18) months of experience; bachelor's degree may substitute for twelve (12) months of experience; and associate's degree may substitute for six (6) months experience.Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of theories, principles, and practice of public health constructs and systems.
Knowledge of state local public health system, planning processes, and administrative structure.
Knowledge of the tribal health system, the planning process, and administrative structure.
Ability to review, evaluate, and write technical reports, procedures, correspondence, and planning documents.
