Provide classroom instruction, evaluate and advise Mathematics students;
Be an integral part of the program review and assessment process. This includes (but not limited to): to develop and/or revise program learning outcomes and curriculum to support the outcomes; develop curriculum maps for both College and Program Learning Outcomes and assessment plans that measure student learning; collect assessment of student learning data and assessment of student learning data and other data provided for Program Review
Participate in department meetings, committee/workgroup meetings, and college-wide events;
Maintain technical knowledge in the field through active participation in professional development organizations and events;
Promote and recruit programs within and outside of the College;
Promote diversity and cultural competency;
Perform other duties as assigned by the Academic Dean or Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree with a major in Mathematics or
Master’s degree in any discipline/field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in Mathematics.
Preferred Qualification
Two years of community college teaching experience;
Previous teaching experience in an urban two-year college;
Excellent written and oral communication skills;
Ability to work both independently and with a variety of people as a team member;
Knowledge of multi-cultural, gender- and disability-fair curriculum development;
Ability to work with a diverse student body with a broad range of interests and abilities;
Experience with course construction, curriculum development and classroom management;
Experience with web-enhanced and on-line course teaching with the D2L Platform.
