64Email a FriendApply NowJob Description:POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT: The medical scribe position will support provider (physician and physician assistant) documentation practices to maximize provider productivity, reimbursement, and overall work efficiency. The medical scribe will work one on one with a provider and directly observe and record specific aspects of the patient encounter into the electronic medical record. The medical scribe will also assist the provider with general clerical tasks that facilitate patient flow within the emergency department. Join our team and make good happen!MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education:H.S. diploma; currently enrolled or graduate of an associate or bachelor degree program in biology, chemistry or other allied health science; enrollment in a pre-medicine or comparable health concentration preferred. Medical terminology coursework completion is strongly preferred.Experience:Previous patient care experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Ability to actively listen and create a narrative account of events succinctly in grammatically-correct English.Strong writing skills; able to type approximately 70 words per minute with > 90% accuracy.Experience navigating in an electronic medical record strongly preferredExcellent organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.General understanding of patient flow in an emergency department (arrival, treatment, and discharge phases).Comfortable working in a fast paced environment with regular exposure to protected health information.Must be able to professionally interact with all members of the care team, as well as patients and their families.Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:Current or previous certification as a health care provider preferred but not required (medical assistant, patient care assistant, emergency room technician, emergency medical technician).
