The agency oversees the state's programs for apprenticeship, construction codes and licensing, dual-training pipeline, occupational safety and health, wage and hour standards, workers' compensation and youth skills training programs.This position will require the incumbent to be in office, full time, at a DLI office building.This position exists to provide lead administrative support services to the State Program Administrative Director overseeing prevailing wage and the prevailing wage unit generally. This position provides multiple and varied administrative functions in support of prevailing wage enforcement and the annual prevailing wage survey. Serving as one of the division’s purchasing and fleet coordinators to ensure there is sufficient support if the division’s other purchasing and fleet coordinator is unavailable. This position works under the direction of the State Program Administrative Director overseeing prevailing wage and the Division Director of Labor Standards and collaborates with other unit personnel to complete the work and mission of the unit.Responsibilities include:

Administrative and office support to the Prevailing Wage Unit

Assist with new hire training

Purchasing

Assist with developing, planning, and execution of the annual prevailing wage and truck rental rate surveys

Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to develop, modify, and evaluate/improve administrative and program procedures.

Ability to use word processing and other software applications to create spreadsheets, templates, mail merges, custom reports, and newsletters.

Document and records management sufficient to maintain electronic or paper files for efficient organization and retrieval of information.

Skill in database management sufficient to develop, maintain databases, and perform searches to find relevant information and produce up-to-date reports.

Typing/keyboarding ability sufficient to perform skilled typing tasks with speed and accuracy.

Ability to provide training to others within the work unit on the program policies, procedures, and standards of administrative materials.

Skill in customer service sufficient to provide prompt, detailed, and accurate information to internal staff and external stakeholders in person, on the phone, and through email and other written correspondence.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of DLI Financial Services’ Purchasing Manual, purchasing processes and procedures.

Knowledge of and changes in applicable labor laws, regulations, standards, codes and policies.

Language skills other than English (Somali, Spanish, Hmong, Karen or ASL).

Ability to communicate effectively with individuals with a wide range of backgrounds, who do not share your same culture, ethnicity, language, or other common experiences.
