The OpportunityThis position works out of our St. Paul location in the Structural Heart Division.Structural Heart Business Mission: Why We Exist Our business purpose is to restore health and improve quality of life by designing and providing device and management solutions for treating structural heart disease.As the Tissue and Valve Trainer, you’ll be responsible for the coordination, implementation, and execution of training systems; including the development and innovation of training programs to support manufacturing and peripheral groups. Coordinates the ongoing and recurring system training of manufacturing training assistants. Implements and maintains training system controls for manufacturingWhat You’ll Work OnAssist the Production Supervisor to achieve the daily production schedules and quality goals. Provide guidance and be a source of information for operators and support groups in the area. Coordinates the documentation, training and provides inputs for performance appraisal and may assist in the employee selection process. Escalates issues to Engineers as needed. Responsible to provide full-support to the Supervisor. Coordinate jobs to keep lines moving and ensure line balance.

Reports to the Production Supervisor and is responsible for assembling, training, and leading a small team to assemble animal tissue (porcine and/or bovine) heart valve, in accordance with approved manufacturing and quality inspection procedures

Will use existing MP’s and IP’s to train Tissue Valve Specialists one-on-one to meet specific certification requirements

Will train their team to make sure production goals/metrics are met and will work with Supervisors, Engineers, and Managers to resolve line issues and implement improvements

Will work directly with Engineers to update MP’s and IP’s

Will document required training and certification of team to ensure timely completion

Will use computer to email production communications, print out processes, and input data into Excel

Participate in performance assessments by reporting on their skill development and teamwork abilities

Ensure certification, recertification, and training needs are completed by team and report gaps to Manufacturing Supervisors and/or Training Administration Team

Will perform monthly line audits to ensure compliance for audit preparedness and to monitor process complaints

Solves complex problems requiring extensive interpretation of procedures and practices to provide leadership in evolving projects

Selects methods and practices to solve problems using ingenuity, creativity, and a high degree of independent action and initiative

Assist with interviewing of potential tissue valve specialist candidates

Assist with New Employee Orientation and associated training

50% build of product

Assess yield improvements

Complete an additional Abbott-Sponsored Course determined by Supervisor

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma / GED or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

Experience with assembly, manufacturing, sewing experience of valves/tissue

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum 4 years of related experience and tissue valve background

Attained certification based on Manufacturing Process

Basic computer skills (e.g. Outlook, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel))
