Dental Practice Development Specialist

OverviewThe Practice Development Specialist is responsible for delivering in-practice training and Field Support programs for auxiliary teams across all affiliated practices within the organization. This position partners with the Director of Field Operations, Practice Doctors and their teams, Marketing, Human Resources, and other departments. The goal of the Practice Development Specialist is to work alongside the aforementioned team members to identify practice development needs and to partner with internal Affordable Care Learning and Development team members to successfully fulfill these training requirements. Reporting to the Practice Development Manager, the Practice Development Specialist has a critical role in the development of FDAs, DAs, treatment coordinators, office managers, and other field support members. Must Be Based in Minnesota or Wisconsin to be considered for the Role and have the ability to travel weekly to practices in a Territory (Tues.-Thurs.). Travel expenses covered. Skill Set:

Possesses strong working knowledge of all ACI’s practice management systems, insurance processes and clinical systems and processes

ResponsibilitiesKey ResponsibilitiesPatient Care and Experience:

Train auxiliary team on how to maintain high standards of patient care, including patient education, communication, and comfort during procedures

Emphasize the importance of creating a positive patient experience through the Affordable Care Model

Teach proper communication techniques and etiquette during patient engagement to provide an exceptional patient experience

Train and demonstrate case acceptance skills and use of 3rd party financing

Training and Development:

Deliver and implement training for dental auxiliary team on clinical and administrative duties

Provide hands-on coaching in chairside assisting, infection control, dental materials handling, impression taking, radiographic procedures, proper use of dental equipment and materials maintenance, including sterilization techniques

Teach proper use of Dentrix, Eaglesoft and other Practice Management Systems. Train and be knowledgeable in administrative tools including but not limited to Weave, Stamplii, Dentira and E-prescribe

Proficient and can train to day-to-day practice management duties including but not limited to, End of Day, End of Month, AR Management, Collections Process, Schedule Management, Unfinished Treatment Report, using PMS and Power BI Reporting

Demonstrates exceptional understanding and mastery of Treatment Planning, Case Acceptance and Revenue Enhancement skills

Work alongside Director of Field Operations to conduct regular skills assessments to identify gaps and areas for improvement in dental auxiliary performance

Team Support and Coordination:

Work closely with dentists, practice managers, team members and Operations to ensure the dental team is aligned with practice goals and objectives

Collaborate with Director of Field Operations to develop performance metrics and provide regular feedback to auxiliary team

Create a supportive learning environment, promoting continuous improvement and professional growth

Compliance and Safety:

Ensure all auxiliary team are fully trained on OSHA standards, HIPAA regulations, infection control protocols, and any other relevant compliance measures

Monitor and provide guidance by teaming up with Legal and Compliance to provide safety regulations within the dental office

Thorough understanding and ability to train to legal and state requirements

Performance Evaluation:

Regularly assess the performance of dental auxiliary team and provide constructive feedback

Implement continuing education programs to keep the team up to date with the latest dental practices, technologies, and trends

Develop individualized coaching plans to help team improve weak areas and advance in their careers

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain detailed records of training programs, team performance evaluations, and certifications

Provide post visit reports and updates to management on the progress and development of the dental auxiliary team

QualificationsQualifications:

Ability to travel weekly to any one of our affiliated dental practices in your assigned region for multiple consecutive days- Typically Tuesday-Thursday in the practices

Experience with dentures and dental implants

Experience in Treatment Planning and presenting Treatment Plans to support Case Acceptance

Must understand compliance with state dental practice requirements (i.e., X-ray requirements, OSHA training, Cone Beam Imaging etc.)

Experience with Dental Insurance and/or Medical Insurance

Excellent professional, interpersonal, and customer service skills

Ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels

Experience with PMS systems- for example Dentrix, Eaglesoft

Detail-oriented, ability to multitask

Strong work ethic

Able to operate independently

Great attitude and interpersonal skills

Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills

Excellent organization, planning, judgment, and time management skills

Highly Collaborative - Can effectively work as part of a team and work with others across the organization to achieve a common goal

Education and Experience:

Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience. BS/BA- RDA, RDH degree highly preferred

5+ years of Dental Field Experience

Training experience preferred

Experience with Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, and Advanced PowerPoint
