Description We are seeking a Cost Accountant to join our team based in Vadnais Heights, Minnesota. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and analyzing the company's product costs, managing inventory, and performing various accounting tasks. This function is integral to our operations, and you will be collaborating with various teams, including plant operations, procurement, and commercial groups.Responsibilities: Conduct month, quarter, and year-end period closing processes Carry out detailed analysis on inventory costs to assist in the development of standard costs and understanding of inventory variances Provide product costing for pricing and business decisions, working with department leaders Execute the standard cost update process on an annual basis Analyze results of inventory counts and their impact on the Income statement Interact with cross-functional teams, including plant operations, procurement, and commercial groups Collaborate with the FP& A team to ensure accurate and timely reporting of PPV, standard cost changes, and volume/product mix Review work order transactions to identify costing errors and perform Root Cause Analyses Assist with quarterly reviews and annual audits as applicable Follow all Company policies and procedures relating to confidential proprietary information (CPI) Requirements Possession of a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A minimum of five years of experience in cost accounting or relevant roles. Proficiency in using Accounting Software Systems. Experience with ADP - Financial Services. Knowledge of Crystal Reports and Epicor. Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning. Solid understanding of accounting functions. Experience with Accounts Payable (AP). Proven experience in auditing. Familiarity with budget processes. Demonstrable experience in handling cash activity. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Detail-oriented and highly organized. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. High level of integrity and dependability. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
