Strategically conduct research with MSU faculty and external constituents to assess specific needs and identify potential opportunities for new non-credit programming within the MSU community, the Greater Gallatin Valley, statewide and beyond.
Manage and deliver existing ATO non-credit courses and programs.
For new non-credit opportunities, the Continuing and Professional Education Program Manager will be responsible for developing course, program proposals and budgets, and managing the implementation and completion of projects while operating in compliance with state law, federal law and University policies and procedures.
Responsible for all program logistics and the delegation of associated duties to support staff for successful implementation.
Conduct budget development and analysis for new and continuing programs in coordination with BOM and Fiscal Shared Services, approving expenditures, generating income/expense reports from specialized registration software for program and Fiscal Shared Services use, and determining future financial viability.
Plan, direct and coordinate the assessment / analysis of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for existing programming and making forecasting recommendations for long and short-term goals and strategies to the ATO Director, Assistant Director and key stakeholders based on this information.
Identify and recruit instructors from the MSU pool or from the private sector to teach for courses and programs.
Function as the primary lead for planning meetings, establishing timetables, and making recommendations for program implementation.
Manage and supervise support staff as appropriate.
Demonstrated experience independently managing multiple projects simultaneously along with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Project Management or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Experience with market analysis and needs assessment for professional education program development and implementation.
Proficiency in appropriate computer systems and software programs including spreadsheets and word processing software.
Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Previous experience working in a higher education environment.
Leadership/supervisory experience coordinating and directing the work of others.
Masters degree in education or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
The Successful Candidate Will
Knowledge of basic principles of educational program planning.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written, to internal and external clients.
Ability to prioritize multiple work tasks, meet deadlines, and exercise adaptability to changing priorities.
Knowledge of basic marketing and assessment strategies for educational programs.
Ability to supervise support staff and assign appropriate duties.
Knowledge of general accounting, budgeting, and fiscal management principles, practices and procedures.
Knowledge of departmental, University, state and Federal rules and regulations governing record keeping and fiscal management.
Ability to manage and design financial spreadsheets, manage databases, research and analyze information, and prepare related reports.
Ability to maintain records with a high degree of accuracy and close attention to detail.
Ability to gather and interpret information and make sound recommendations.
Ability to appropriately handle confidential situations and information in accordance with MSU and ATO Guidelines and Procedures.
Identify and hire qualified instructors to teach for various programs while complying with the Federal, state, MUS and MSU policies and procedures.
Establish and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and a variety of other public collaborators.
