Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
Ability to demonstrate and maintain a good safety record
Strong computer, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
Knowledge of NESC and NEC
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple conflicting tasks and demands
Valid Drivers License and satisfactory driving record
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
Ability to travel to jobsites, off-site meetings, and trainings (up to 15% travel per year) including overnight stays when necessary
Ability to pass an employment physical, a drug test and a background check
P.E or ability to obtain P.E. a plus
Experience in electric distribution or transmission engineering, modeling and construction preferred
Experience with PLS-CADD, PSSE, CAPE, GIS systems and survey techniques desired
Knowledge in Project Management principles and fundamentals desired
DUTIES INCLUDE:
Use sound analytical skills to model, analyze, propose solutions for growth and recommend long range strategies for customer/load growth
Address technical challenges or issues that arise during the process or implementation phase
Work on complex opportunities where technical specifications, compliance and integration with existing systems are crucial; may be involved in the installation and implementation phases to ensure that the customer's needs are met
Work closely with customers to understand their technical requirements and demonstrate how the company's products or services meet those needs; this involves creating customized solutions, providing technical support and sometimes even assisting in the design of systems that fit the customer's specifications
Combine engineering knowledge with sales skills; should understand the utility company's products or services in-depth, such as power generation equipment, transmission systems or software solutions
Develop strategic relationships
Conduct market analysis and identify emerging trends or risks
Prepare presentations and present to management and/or customers
Coordinate projects between stakeholders from other affected departments
Design electric facilities to NorthWestern Energy standards
Ensure that cost estimates meet company standards and current tariffs
Maintain compliance with all related standards including industry and regulatory
Perform computer related functions such as engineering analysis, drawing, spreadsheets and database compilations
Provide engineering for growth, expansion and extensions projects
Provide project oversite
Respond to customer growth/expansion request, including site visits
Survey and inspect routes
Adhere to company safety standards and the Code of Business Conduct & Ethics
Ensure all actions are consistent with NorthWestern Energy's values, mission, and strategic business objectives
Full-time position.$72,200 - $135,200, depending on experience.
