Variable Shifts, including NightsJOB SUMMARY (overview of job): Under the direction of the Director of Respiratory Care, with minimal supervision, the Registered Respiratory Therapist, upon request of the physician, set-up and operates various types of respiratory equipment and deliver physician - prescribed therapy. Promotes and ensures continuity in the quality of respiratory care administered by the Respiratory Care department. Other procedures or tests that may be required are Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs), Electroencephalography (EEGs), or Electrocardiographs (ECGs). Performs other duties as assigned. Takes call as required.Aptitudes: Demonstrate ability to effectively and creatively solve problems without immediate supervision. Demonstrated ability to plan and use time wisely. Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate with patients/families who may be under physical and emotional stress. Gather and exchange information effectively with nursing personnel, physicians, and customers. Interpersonal skills and abilities to interact effectively with patients/families who may be under physical/emotional stress. Gather/exchange information effectively with nursing personnel, physicians, and patients.
