Summary Spire is looking for a Senior Specialist in the Workplan Strategy department. This role is responsible for the creating, planning, managing, and monitoring of a portfolio of infrastructure expansion and maintenance work required company wide. This person will support utility-wide business planning and performance monitoring processes, including ensuring appropriate integration and support exists between processes and areas, including development of appropriate dashboards, metrics and schedules as requested. They will also serve as a representative on cross functional strategic projects; empowered to provide guidance to VPs/SVPs on Workplan-related topics. Duties and Responsibilities

Coordinate and manage the annual workplan strategy and monthly forecasting processes for allotted reporting departments and assure that plans are integrated, consistent and supportive of the Utility strategic direction.

Manage allotted departmental reporting processes, including collection, preparation, distribution and presentation of monthly workplan strategy reports to business unit presidents and department heads.

Manage the departmental operational forecasting process to ensure all impacted parties are informed of the impacts of workplan variances on future expectations.

Provide necessary support for the preparation and facilitation of the Company’s monthly business reviews and strategic direction meetings.

Identify, analyze, and assess the portfolio of projects to be undertaken to support the utility strategy. Develop business cases by gathering and assessing background and research data; supporting economic, financial, and performance analysis; providing quality assurance, due diligence and review support as appropriate.

Develop, implement, and upgrade systems and processes to support operational standardization and excellence.

Develop and evaluate key performance metrics, productivity statistics, and objectives.

Identify areas of improvement that lead to improved customer satisfaction, operational performance and bottom-line results.

Conduct presentations to the BU Presidents and other senior Executive Leadership, as needed.

All other duties as assigned.

Required Education (certifications, licenses)

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant business discipline. May consider candidates that have extensive operational knowledge and experience that are willing to pursue further education.

Master’s degree in business administration (or similar), preferred.

Required knowledge, skill and abilities

8+ years of relevant planning, operational, and/or analytical experience (e.g., working as a planning, financial or budget analyst).

Experience with Tableau, Maximo, and Click strongly, preferred.

Experience must extend beyond tactical operational planning and reviewing of historical results.

Understanding operational requirements and processes and how value is created and strategic and business planning, key operational performance metrics, and managerial performance reporting.

Able to utilize data from a variety of sources to identify relevant operational and market trends, understand implications, develop and assess new improvement opportunities, and evaluate potential strategic scenarios.

Physical demands, environment and schedule

Shared office work environment.

Hybrid work schedule (at least three days in office).

Overtime as needed.

Some travel required (4 to 6 times a year).
