We are creative, disciplined, hard-working, complex-problem solvers that believe in collaborating to deliver the highest quality customer experience.BE PART OF THE CONNECTIONAs a Security Engineer I o­­n the Information Security, Engineering team responsible for engineering activities that monitor, detect and alert on potential security threats and vulnerabilities to the company's telecommunications data and database security. Works closely with network engineering and technical operations staff as security threats and support vulnerabilities are detected and coordinates the response to contain and mitigate the threat to Charter’s network.WHAT OUR SECURITY ENGINEERS I ENJOY MOST

Supporting the database security configuration and compliance for Imperva data security.

Implementing and enforcing data protection policies and procedures, including data classification, and access controls, and service account abuse.

Ensuring compliance with Cybersecurity framework and PCI standards for database security.

Implementing database security controls.

Performing database security assessments and vulnerability scanning.

Developing and implementing data protection policies and procedures.

Assessing PCI Standard controls and ensuring compliance.

Staying current on database security best practices and emerging threats.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPECTRUMRequired Qualifications

Experience:

IT/network – 2+ years

Information security – 2+ years

Information security operations – 1+ years

Demonstrated experience in handling information security events and incidents

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or related field or equivalent experience

Technical skills :

Knowledge of network and system security vulnerabilities and exploits

Demonstrated understanding of what is required to prevent security exploits, how to detect security attacks and anomalies and how to respond to security incidents and intrusions

Basic knowledge of forensic methodologies and best practices to investigate intrusions, preserve evidence and coordinate a unified security response

Demonstrated the ability to work across functional boundaries, build consensus and drive results

Skills: Effective written and verbal communication skills and should have good presentation skills

Abilities:

Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

Ability to problem solve, balance competing priorities and manage through complexity and rapid change

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Abilities and Knowledge :

CompTIA Security+ certification or equivalent foundational security certification.

(ISC) SSCP (Systems Security Certified Practitioner) certification or equivalent hands-on security experience.

Collaborate with other software developers, business analysts, and software architects to plan, design, and develop the CI/CD process for applications. Partner with developers and testers to create software deployment plans. Build tools for automated deployment. Design and develop in accordance with established standards. Participate in peer-reviews of solution designs and related code. Package and support deployment of releases. Prepare and deploy new modules and upgrades. Complete fixes within the production environment. Develop, refine, and tune integrations between applications. Assess opportunities for application and process improvement and prepare documentation of rationale to share with team members and other affected parties. Responsible for compliance with company engineering standards, policies, and procedures. Maintain relationships with peers, team, and other organizations and vendors. Be part of an effective front-line leadership team and assist with developing their direct team members to drive a high-performance culture and environment. Collaborate with developers and infrastructure teams to install or upgrade third party software. Specialist in system performance and reliability, solving design problems, and developing specialized skill sets. Articulate recommendations for enhancing performance via gap analysis, identifying the most practical alternative solution, and assisting with modifications. Provide documentation support as necessary. Maintain objectivity while adjusting to iterative changes and the evolving technology landscape. Design, code, develop, and test applications in Java and J2EE. Design and develop Shell scripts for the application automation process. Design and develop Groovy scripts for the continuous integration and automation process. Develop Ansible scripts to deploy applications and infrastructure configuration management. Design, code, develop, and test applications using Python.
