Instructional Systems Designer

Description Robert Half is seeking an experienced Instructional Designer for one of our St. Louis, MO based clients. A qualified Instructional Designer is a professional in the education industry who designs, develops, and delivers effective and engaging learning experiences. They work with subject matter experts to identify training needs, apply instructional design theories and methods, and utilize multimedia tools to enhance the learning process. Some of the tasks an instructional designer might be responsible for include:

Write learning objectives

Determine the scope of educational projects

Create the layout of the instructional material

Work with subject matter experts

Write content

Develop audio, visual, and interactive media aids

Plan and create assessments

The ideal candidate for this position will have experience using Articulate (Rise 360 or Storyline), written educational content for women’s, family health, healthcare, or prenatal/birthing and have strong experience in creating a versatile asynchronous curriculum. Candidates with related industry/audience experience will be prioritized

Audience: adults ages on average 25+, either in college for related fields, or are at home care takers/ family members/ doulas/ etc.

Since this course is derived from a series of webinars, most of the content is readily available but needs to be transcribed and repurposed for self-paced online training.

This is a project-based opportunity going through April until June which will require part time hours to start and would lean more towards 30+ hours towards the end of the project.

Our client is looking for strong examples of creative and successful knowledge checks, reflective prompts, and multiple scenario walkthroughs.
