Employees are enrolled in the Ohio Public Employees Retirement Plan and the Board contributes an amount equal to 14% of the employee's wages to their retirement plan.

Employees have the option to enroll in medical, dental, and vison insurance plans which have very low premiums. Once deductibles are met, our medical plan pays 100% for most prescriptions and medical treatments.

Employees who take advantage of the insurance plans will have a health savings account setup and can contribute through payroll deductions. To ensure that employees can afford medical costs the Board contributes $2,000 for single or $4,000 for family to the employee's health savings account.

Rest and time with friends and families is important. Each year employees have ten holidays, one personal day, board administration days (the days between Christmas and New Year's Day), and generous sick and vacation leaves.

Employees can apply for tuition assistance.

Employees can take advantage of the Employee Assistance Program which will provide free counseling for challenges that the employee faces at work or at home.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

Current Ohio RN License

Two Year's supervisory e xperience r equired

Experience with Department of Health (Medicaid) and DODD Licensure Policies and Procedures Preferred

Experience i n Long-Term Care Or ICF/IID Facility Preferred

Experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmentally disabilities p referred

POST-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

Acquire And/Or Maintain Applicable License/Certification/Registration In Good Standing; CPR, Approved Behavior Management, Infection Control, Personal Care Of Residents Related To Handicapped Individuals, Civil Treatment Training; Maintain Required Program Training Standards

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides input and serves as advocate for health care needs of individuals. Assures that nursing care plans and programs are developed to meet the needs of individuals. Reviews individuals' medical reports from various sources to relay information to the physician . Provides treatment as necessary, including first aid and the administration and documentation of medications and treatments to individuals. Makes recommendations for medical examinations or treatment for apparent specific health problems. Oversees the update of medical records for IP's and facilitates coordination of medical care between physician and individuals. Monitors documentation including individual medical charts and daily logs relating to their health and treatment . Monitors staff with individual care when necessary. Monitors the care of acute and chronically ill individuals. Monitors medications taken by individuals and recommends possible changes based upon effects; Reviews medication errors and makes recommendations accordingly. L ifts, carries and moves adults in a safe manner, according to training.

Coordinates the hiring process of RN's, LPN's. Orients/trains/supervises assigned staff in the Residential and Day Habilitation settings. Sets/monitors/ensures staff compliance to departmental/program/state and federal rules and regulations. Monitors staff attendance. Schedules staff to ensure coverage/individual safety and well-being. Receives and recommends leave requests. Verifies employee payroll transaction documents . Recommends and implements discipline as appropriate. Receives and processes grievances per policy and procedure. Assists staff in resolving problems . Conducts timely employee evaluations . Conducts and follows through on staff meetings . Adheres to, interprets and enforces bargaining unit agreement and personnel manual . Participates in negotiation of bargaining unit agreement . Resolves issues as appropriate and follows up with appropriate communication. Trains and monitors staff in practice or infection control and other medical conditions/issues . Hosts regular staff meetings. Monitors staff to follow proper procedures as related to Individuals' health.

Obtains physicians orders and records, when necessary. Meets with physicians and other health care professionals from within or outside the agency to assure continuous effective health care . Meets and timely communicates with caregivers regarding individuals' health needs or problems as necessary. Serves as liaison between program staff, physicians, families, parents, guardians and CMS regarding medical conditions of individuals.

Monitors and reviews physician's orders for medication, treatments and procedures as needed . Monitors sixty (60) day renewal of physician orders and ninety (90) day assessments on individuals as needed. Assures appropriate and accurate filing of documents. Assumes responsibility of documentation to meet quality assurance, and updates nursing policy and procedures as needed. Evaluates and analyzes reports of individuals' physical conditions and monitors for treatment as necessary . Monitors nursing procedures per universal precautions as ordered by physicians, e.g. suctions, removing of sutures, injections, documentation of medical condition

Responsible for Compliance with Ohio Nurses Association, Center for Medicaid and Medicare Services, Health Department and the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities. Ensures that all Residential Living Units and Day Habilitation settings are in compliance with appropriate local, state and federal nursing standards. Understands the principals of nursing delegation. Applies relevant Ohio Administrative Code or Ohio Revised Code regulations related to delegated nursing or medication administration certification. Monitors at least monthly, the delivery of delegated nursing services as appropriate. Coordinates Nursing budget to assure needs are met and supplies are properly managed to meet the budget goal set for the fiscal year. Serves as liaison to and Reviews pharmacy statements to assure money spent is not over budgeted cost. Notifies the health department regarding communicable infections as required. Chairs and assists with the preparation of the Psychotropic Medication Committee and follows up on recommendations.

COMPENSATION: $48,078.33 - $73,559.84 (based on experience)
