The Assistant Professor’s teaching responsibilities are assigned by the academic department head and may include serving as an academic advisor. The Assistant Professor engages in scholarly activities beyond those associated with teaching and is expected to demonstrate professional productivity in research, based upon the availability of resources and consistent with the mission of the University.Description of Primary Duties The standard teaching load is 9 hours per semester (three courses). The successful candidate will mainly teach entertainment/sport management courses, publish in discipline-appropriate peer-reviewed journals to maintain SA status in support of AACSB accreditation, advise the Entertainment Management Association, one of the College’s signature student organizations, serve as an ex officio member of the Entertainment Management (Alumni) Advisory Council, and meet university service requirements. All candidates must be committed to working for the professional success of students from all backgrounds.Minimum Acceptable Qualifications The minimum acceptable qualifications for the position of Assistant Professor are prescribed in the Faculty Handbook. The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds is required.Additional Qualifications Successful candidates will hold a Ph.D. in entertainment/sport management or business administration from an AACSB -accredited institution with an emphasis on entertainment/sport management or a related field.
