FIRE CAMP KITCHEN: COOKS & LABORERS

SEASONAL FIRE CREW: Summertime means Fire Season! Yellowstone Kelly’s Catering is looking for new team members. Our Forest Service fire contact period begins in June and runs until late September. We are looking for capable people to be available for that period or a portion of it. We hire cooks, food preparation personnel, drivers and a lot of general labor personnel. A valid driver’s license is preferred for all positions.

Our kitchen fleet dispatches to wildland fire and emergency incidents throughout the Western US. Our crew sets up a temporary camp and works to feed firefighters and support personnel for the duration of the fire - sometimes a few days, sometimes a few weeks, occasionally longer.

Fire Camp employees must be prepared to work shifts of 8 to 16 hours per day, seven days per week when the kitchen is under dispatch. This includes long hours on your feet, lifting, loading and unloading supplies, ware washing, equipment cleaning, food serving, food preparation and sack lunch assembly.

We also hire CDL truck drivers.

We live in campout conditions while on fire operations. Fire employees are required to have a tent, sleeping bag and sleeping pad. Meals are provided.

The pay depends on experience starting at $17.75 per hour base with a health and welfare stipend of $4.93 per hour added on during the first 40 hours of a work week. After 40 hours have been worked during the week the overtime pay rate is 1.5 times the base.

This is a seasonal position, lasting from June until approximately October 1.

Benefits include Sick leave, paid holidays vacation pay after one year of service, and a cash bonus to qualified employees who complete the season.

Interested personnel should contact us via email or (406-245-2264) and fill out our application including a brief work history and work references
