At LIFTT, we rely on a meticulous financial system to drive our business forward. The accounts payable (AP) department keeps that system running smoothly by managing cash flow and paying vendors and suppliers. We are searching for a skilled financial specialist to join our AP team to help process, track, and record payments accurately, efficiently, and timely. The AP specialist will have a daily, ongoing impact on financial transactions, keeping us on track, on time, and good terms with our valued partners.

Objectives of this role

Support the company in optimizing its financial transactions and systems.

Strengthen and grow relationships with vendors and suppliers through timely payments.

Assist in streamlining and improving the accounts payable process.

Exercise integrity and confidentiality in financial reporting.

Comply with national and local financial regulations.

Completing payments and controlling expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices

Reconciling processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances

Ensuring outstanding balances are updated with credit memos that are due

Paying employees by receiving and verifying expense reports using company-specific accounting software

Verifying vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions

Maintaining historical records of all invoices, reports, receipts, and cheques by saving documents properly on the network

Assisting other departments with equipment or product purchases, tracking assets and accounts for acquisition

Confirming subcontractor billed working hours, bonuses, and projects

Other Job Functions

Presentations to community agencies as requested.

There is a one-year probationary period.

This position is contingent upon continued funding and program success.

Criminal records check is required.

Answer phones as needed and assist with general office duties as needed.

Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Knowledge

4 years of QuickBooks Online, Understanding job costing, General Journal entries,

Job Type: Part-time to Full-time

Salary: $15.50 - $18.00 per hour

Benefits: Must work 20 hours or more per week to qualify.
