Plant Manager- State Inspected Meat Processing

We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Meat Processing Plant Manager with HACCP Coordinator responsibilities to oversee all aspects of our meat processing operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining high-quality standards, overseeing and maintaining food safety regulations and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of plant management while ensuring compliance with state inspection standards and safety protocols within a small establishment setting.

Responsbilities

Daily Operations:

Oversee daily operations on the harvest floor, ensuring humane handling and proper dispatching of animals.

Manage the slaughter calendar and coordinate processing schedules.

Supervise processing, breakdown, packaging, and labeling of meat products.

Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and promote a culture of safety within the plant.

Gain familiarity with smoking and curing processes; training will be provided as needed.

Quality Assurance:

Develop, implement, and maintain HACCP plans; ensure compliance with SSOPs, GMPs, and state inspection requirements.

Monitor sanitation protocols and ensure proper storage and handling of products.

Conduct regular assessments of plant operations to identify areas for improvement in productivity and quality.

Equipment Maintenance:

Provide basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues, maintain, and repair processing equipment ensure optimal performance.

Team Leadership:

Manage and lead a team of employees, fostering a positive work environment.

Cultivate strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with staff and inspectors.

Train, mentor, and develop plant staff to foster a high-performance work environment.

Qualifications

Proven experience in plant management or a similar role within a manufacturing environment.

Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and HACCP certification

Demonstrated ability to drive process improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency.

Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams towards achieving operational goals.

Strong mechanical knowledge with the capability to understand equipment functionality and maintenance needs.

Familiarity with quality control standards and practices in a manufacturing setting.

Exceptional problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement methodologies.
