Baker III

Under direction from the management team, the Baker III works at one of the two residential dining halls and manages the bakery concepts and associated coffee stations.

Skillfully prepares a wide variety of baked goods (both scratch and pre-made) while positively and professionally interacting with customers.

Production of specialty items such as artisan bread, and tortilla and pizza dough.

Mixes all icing, puddings and toppings.

Ices products (cakes, doughnuts, etc) and provides decorative garnishing of finished baked goods.

Operates and is knowledgeable about a wide variety of large scale and specialty bakery equipment.

Works with the management team to train and supervise staff.

Monitors inventory, keeps records, and orders accordingly.

Analyzes and makes recommendations concerning potential mixing problems and new recipes.

Directs staff in the cleaning of areas and equipment in accordance with the sanitarians recommendations.

Cash handling and operating point of sales.

Acts as barista when needed.

And contributes to the success of the department as an active member of the team while performing other duties as needed in support of the department’s mission.
