Microtel Inn and Suites located at 612 Nikles Drive is now hiring a Hotel Maintenance Engineer.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Hotel Maintenance Engineer to join our team. This position is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all hotel equipment, systems, and infrastructure, as well as maintaining a high standard of guest comfort and facility appearance.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment.
Maintain and repair hotel infrastructure including guest rooms, common areas, and back-of-house facilities.
Respond promptly to guest and staff maintenance requests and work orders in a courteous, professional manner.
Monitor building systems such as fire alarms, elevators, and emergency generators to ensure compliance and safety.
Assist in energy conservation efforts and track usage of utilities when required.
Ensure maintenance tools and equipment are in good condition and stored properly.
Collaborate with housekeeping, front desk, and other departments to address immediate issues that affect guest experience.
Maintain documentation of maintenance activities and inventory of supplies and spare parts.
Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Be available for emergency maintenance requests or after-hours on-call duties as scheduled.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school certification preferred.
2+ years of maintenance experience in a hotel, resort, or similar facility.
Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical activities including bending, lifting, and climbing ladders.
Availability to work flexible shifts including weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations.
