Katabatic Brewing Company is a growing production brewery in Livingston, MT. We are a production style brewery with a retail sample room and a 15-barrel(bbl) brewhouse.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate is passionate about beer, likes beer, knows beer or at least wants to know more about beer and likes to talk about beer. We are willing to train the right candidates!
Scope and General Purpose of Job:
As the public face of the Katabatic team, servers educate our customers about our craft beers and the craft beer industry through tastings and personal attention as well as promoting and selling Katabatic Brewing Company products and merchandise.
Work both independently as well as in a team environment, manufacturing and packaging high quality craft beer while maintaining a clean and safe facility.
The position is part-time. Guaranteed 10 hours/week with an additional 10 hours available as Cellar Person; additional shifts available as needed; including events and brewfests. The ideal candidate will have open availability.
Tap Room Job Requirements:
Must be a team player with excellent communication
Must possess a strong ability to multitask
Excellent customer service skills
Must attend all staff meetings (Currently scheduled for Tuesdays at 10am)
Knowledge of beer, home brewing and/or the brewing industry very beneficial
Interest in beer and learning more about craft beer
Able to work under pressure whilst maintaining standards and adhering to Katabatic policy and procedures
Cash handling & POS reconciliation experience
Some heavy lifting involved; periodically lift up to 30lbs
Ability to be on your feet for long periods of time
Cicerone Beer Server Certificate a big plus
Tap Room Duties and Responsibilities:
Educating customers about Katabatic Brewing Co. beer and the craft beer industry in general
Direct sales via point of sales [POS] software, credit card and cash handling
Serving beer in accordance with TTB regulations
Assisting in merchandise presentation
May assist head brewer on four brewdays per year.
Provide support to the Tap Room Manager
Executing inventory control standard operating procedures [SOPs]
Ambassador for Katabatic Brewing Company
Cleaning and other general duties
Cellar Person Job Requirements:
Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Positive attitude along with an absolute passion for beer
Ability to lift 55 pound sacks of grain, and move 165 pound kegs with a hand cart in and out of a van
Cellar Person Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in milling in, transferring beer, kegging beer and storing beer.
Support retail taproom staff as needed and assigned.
Represent Katabatic Brewing Company at events, festivals, and promotions.
Use proper clean-in-place (CIP) procedures to clean and sanitize kegs, beer lines and faucets.
Coordinate with head brewer and taproom manager to maintain our infrastructure and level of consistency/quality
Maintain expertise and abilities to perform minor maintenance on the infrastructure and assist with major in-house repairs
Maintain a clean and safe working environment in the production area
Receiving, handling, storing, of raw materials
Preparing the finished product to be packaged
Make root beer/soda
Follow policies and Standard Operation Procedures in the Cellar and Brewhouse
