Ophthalmology practice, retina only, needing additional medical assistant as practice grows. Seeking an assistant to work directly with patients. Responsibilities will include preparing patients for examination by the physician. This will include taking the patient's history, checking vision, putting in dilating drops and setting up for minor office procedures. You will be inputting patient data into a computer for electronic medical records. Their will be no written charts.
Prior medical assistant experience is welcomed but not required. The practice is in its fifth year and growing. The addition of a second physician necessitates adding additional staff. There will be time to teach you the necessary skills. This is an opportunity to develop into an ophthalmic technician. Over time, you will be taught to perform diagnostic testing including ophthalmic coherence tomography and fundus photography.
This is a full time position 40 hrs/week. Health insurance will be available after a 3 month trial period. This is a small practice so staff cohesion is critical. Someone who works well with others, is self motivated and willing to multi-task are highly coveted. This is medical practice has tremendous growth potential. Their is an opportunity to transition into a management position for the right individual.
Compensation will be based on experience and skill level. Compensation will be market value for experienced people with the skills outlined above.
If you have no prior experience, requiring full training, the hourly wage will be $14/hr to start with increases based upon skills acquired.
