Heather's Garden Service is seeking a reliable, energetic individual for our small garden service team.
We specialize in keeping beautifully-designed landscapes gorgeous all season long for our high-end clients. We also take on a few small scale, select design/installs. Plants are our thing. We love the native, naturalized, floriferous containerized and exquisitely pruned. We plant them, prune them and ogle them.
Our base of operations is a farm on an island surrounded by the stunning Yellowstone River in downtown Livingston. Along with our garden services, we run two greenhouses where we grow annuals and perennials for our clients and weekend retail events. We create custom annual container arrangements and have a budding cut-flower operation. Our maintenance properties are ranches along waterways, small town urban landscapes and mountain houses primarily located in Paradise Valley, the Shields Valley and Livingston.
Ideal candidates are self motivated collaborators who love to work outdoors and have an eye for detail. Knowledge of southwest MT plants and weeds is a plus, but if you have a keen interest in learning this trade, and the energy to match, we offer great opportunities for growth and education! Typical duties include: wildflower meadow maintenance; mulching, pruning, and weeding; monitoring of plant health; container planting care & irrigation management.
This is a full-time seasonal position that ideally starts in late March and extends through October and into November as long as the weather permits. While we do our best to make a joyful work environment, we also know that time off is the bees'-knees so we are flexible and accommodating with the schedule. We try to work 10 hour days with a push when the weather allows early season and then prioritize the nice long weekends once the sun is shining hot and our rivers are running clear. Because of the breath of the operation (and our desire to play,) extra hours are generally easy to pick up in the greenhouse or on the farm if desired.
