Job Overview: Operate CNC mills and/or turning machines to produce production parts, perform quality checks, and maintain equipment and work areas at the most rad Splitboard binding manufacturer on the planet.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Cut raw stock to size using horizontal band saw and hydraulic shear.
- Operate CNC milling and turning machines to produce a variety of production parts.
- Perform deburring of parts post machining.
- Perform quality checks to ensure parts are within specifications.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and shop space.
- Perform basic machine maintenance and maintain daily consumable levels.
- Manage the generation of machining chips and scrap.
- Accurately track daily productivity via work orders and basic inventory software (Fishbowl).
- Alert supervisor when parts are out of spec or issues arise with machines or equipment.
- Alert supervisor when consumable are running low.
- Complete various basic tasks throughout the workshop.
- Occasionally assist with basic tasks in other departments.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Possesses a strong mechanical aptitude as well as good math skills.
- Previous machining experience or automated equipment operation preferred.
- Basic understanding of metrology and part drawings; familiar with the use of calipers, micrometers, go/nogo gauges, etc.
- Competent with the use of hand/power tools.
- Detail-oriented.
- Ability to lift at least 50lbs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Be a motivated and reliable person able to work independently as well as part of a team.
