OVERALL JOB PURPOSE
The Bozeman Gibson division is growing. Part of our growth in increasing our production output. In order to accomplish this goal the Bozeman division is building more manufacturing and business floorspace.
The job of the Engineering Project Manager will directly supervise and coordinate the activities of all parties involved with the design, construction and move into Gibson Montanas production facility expansion. After completion of the facility expansion this role will focus on facility-wide projects such a 5S, Capex, Lean, and continuous improvement. The Engineering Project Manager will report to the Technical Director.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of the Engineering Project Manager will include:
Expansion project duties:
o Coordinate the architects and contractors to ensure all expansion work is on track.
o Coordinate with machine and tool suppliers to ensure that new equipment arrives on time.
o Coordinate with electrical, plumbing, and duct-work contractors to ensure that equipment is hooked up and ready to bring online when scheduled.
o Coordinate all aspects of the expansion project in order to achieve cost objectives.
o Track progress of facility expansion and report the progress to the Facilities Director, Technical Director, Controller, and Chief Production Officer.
Post-expansion project duties
o Initiate, plan, coordinate, and put in place facility-wide projects in the following areas: 5S, Lean manufacturing, Kanban, and Continuous improvement.
o Oversees and tracks engineering projects related to new product development.
o Updates and retains all project tracking files with current drawings, price lists, and hours.
o Reports on the ROI of internal engineering projects for manufacturing.
o Confer with engineers or other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, or provide technical information.
o Plan and execute facility improvements.
Other
o Projects and/or other duties as requested by senior Executive team and General Manager.
o Be an integral member of various project teams to change/improve processes as the company evolves.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Required Experience
BS degree preferred or equivalent with Engineering degree preferred
5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Must be able to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and organize workload to meet organizational timelines in a fast paced, very high-growth environment
Essential Skills & Knowledge
Woodworking and guitar experience is a plus
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Project).
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Solutions oriented approach to challenges/issues
Solid interpersonal skills with proven ability to develop and maintain effective business partner relationships at all levels of the organization
Strong team work and project management skills combined with ability to work as part of a team
