Are you passionate about local food, logistics, and keeping operations running smoothly? 406 Market is looking for a hands-on, adaptable Operations Manager to join our team!
At 406 Market, we connect Montanans to the highest-quality local foods—sourcing fresh produce, meats, and specialty items from Montana farms and ranches, as well as carefully curated imports.
What You’ll Do:
-Oversee daily operations, including inventory management, order fulfillment, and logistics
-Work closely with local farmers, ranchers, and producers to coordinate deliveries and maintain strong relationships
-Communicate with chefs, restaurants, and wholesale customers to manage orders and ensure timely fulfillment
-Manage and optimize warehouse and distribution processes for efficiency and quality control
-Maintain accurate financial records, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, using QuickBooks Online
-Maintain and make updates to our online ordering system on Cut+Dry
-Occasionally cover shifts for our delivery driver or assist with hands-on tasks when needed
-Maintain a high standard of food safety, quality, and compliance
-Promote 406 Market and products via social media, newsletters, and marketing materials
What We’re Looking For:
-Experience in management or supply chain management (food industry experience a plus!)
-Proficiency in QuickBooks Online for invoicing, reporting, expense tracking, and bill payments
-Microsoft Excel skills for data manipulation
-Familiarity with the Google’s suite of products
-Excellent communication skills—comfortable working with chefs, farmers, and customers
-Adaptability—comfortable jumping in wherever needed, from office work to hands-on tasks
-Passion for local food and supporting Montana’s producers
-Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
-Ability to work independently
-Ability to multitask in a small-business environment
-Familiarity with social media and marketing to help promote 406 Market and our producers
