POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT: In this position, the Assistant Teacher assists the staff, under direct supervision, with caring, educating and nurturing children of all ages, typically from ages 4 weeks to 12 years old, including those with disabilities and special needs, in a safe and stable environment.Welcomes children each day, provides meals, performs crafts and activities, changes diapers, and ensures children behave well when in contact with other children.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Understand and maintain staff-to-child ratios at all times.
2.Maintaining positive and continuous communication with families, parents, staff and volunteers to ensure an effective and supportive developmental environment for the children.
Ensure a safe and secure environment for all participants.
Nurture and care for children while parents are at work or school.
Supervise older children before and after school.
Provide nutritious meals.
Perform good hand-washing techniques for disease and infection control.
Clean rooms; sanitize equipment and toys.
Prepare bottles and change diapers.
Ensure children have adequate supplies from home, such as diaper cream and diapers.
Prepare children for school.
12.Provide for a child's basic needs.
Comfort children when they are crying.
Determine cause of distress.
Report behavior to director and/or lead teacher.
Supervise children while they are playing outside or on a playground.
Other duties as assigned and required.

Hours: Full-time Monday through Friday. 5:30 am to 6:00 pm. Part-time also available. Hours willWage: $12.00 per hour DOE.Benefits: Employer might pay half of Child Care after the 6 month Probationary Period.
