Detention OfficerChouteau County Sheriff's Office is CURRENTLY accepting applications for the full-time position of Detention Officer. Detention Officers are uniformed un-sworn personnel who are responsible for the safety and security of the Chouteau County Detention Facility. Chouteau County's seat is Fort Benton and is located in central Montana. The county includes about 4000 sq mi with a population of 5800.Duties: Detention Officer duties include but are not limited to: Booking and release of inmates (searching, accounting for property, and required paperwork); transportation of inmates to court, medical appointments and other detention/correctional institutions; patrolling and searches of the facility, ensures safe care, custody and control of inmates, enforces facility rules and regulations; meal and laundry services and general maintenance/cleaning of the Detention Center.Qualifications: High school diploma, GED, or appropriate equivalent. Valid Montana driver's license or the ability to gain one. Completion of a background investigation. Completion of training program, followed by Montana Law Enforcement Academy Detention Officer Basic and a one year probation period.Hourly wage with shift differential.
