POSITION SUMMARY: The Physician is responsible for providing medical services to One Health patients. The Physician coordinates the comprehensive health care needs of the specific patient population and provides appropriate direct patient care through assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of specific conditions. The Physician provides medical and clinical support and direct services to these identified patients. The Physician may also serve as part of a consulting team with constant and effective communication to management and direct care staff regarding clinical policies and procedures. This position also includes participation in educational activities of the Health Center. Evaluates and treats patients (including walk-ins and telehealth), writes prescriptions, provides preventive health care advice and case management, assesses psychological impact of illness and treats or appropriately refers patients, for evaluation and treatment at One Health clinical sites, community sites, and other locations as assigned.

Provides consultation to Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants.

Provides supervision of PAs if required.

Utilizes electronic health record to enter and maintain accurate, timely and up-to-date medical records.

Provides leadership for medical residents on rotation at the Health Center and/or other clinical discipline training activities at the Center.

Participates in the formation and evaluation of applicable protocols.

Maintains continuity of care when Health Center patients utilize other health care facilities, i.e. referrals, emergency room services, outpatient departments, specialty clinics, and inpatient services.

Refers patients for specialty services, as appropriate, provides documentation according to Health Center procedures and follows up on results.

Participates in staff meetings, including quality assurance and medical audit activities in keeping with Health Center procedures.

Participates in 24-hour on-call medical coverage, including at a minimum, one weeknight per week and one weekend every other month.

Participates in Saturday clinic sessions on a regularly scheduled basis.

Participates in on-site and off-site outreach and continuing education programs and ensures training to maintain license and to meet the needs of the population.

Attends board meetings periodically if requested.

Adheres to all One Health Policies and Procedures.

Participates in performance optimization and risk management activities as required.

Cooperates and abides by all elements of One Health’s Compliance Program.

Provides exceptional customer service and models the mission of One Health when interacting with internal and external stakeholders promoting a positive image for the health center.

Performs other duties as assigned or required with or without prior notification.

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certificates/Licenses:

Required

D. or D.O. Degree

Must have completed a residency in a primary care field (Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, or Family Medicine)

Must be Board-eligible and/or Board certified

Must have current and unencumbered Montana/Wyoming license

Must apply for and be granted privileges at affiliated hospital(s)

BLS Certification upon hire

Valid driver’s license

Unrestricted DEA registration
