Job Summary: The Housekeeping Team Lead’s objective is to provide housekeeping excellence for our guests and property owners in the homes and amenities managed by WMRL to ensure financial success of WMRL and their property Owners. The Housekeeping Team Lead is in charge of managing the workflow of their day, and the crew members on their team. The department office is located next door to the Sherpa condominiums and in front of the Anapurna condominiums.

Job Relationships:

Reports to: Housekeeping Manager & Assistant Manager

Employees Supervised: Supervises housekeepers as assigned by Housekeeping Manager or in the absence of.

Job Specifications:

High school graduate or GED equivalent.

Housekeeping experience required.

Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Must be able to problem solve interpersonal situations on their team during the day and follow necessary processes up to and including writing an employee consultation and presenting it to management as needed.

Must be able to work collaboratively with peers, and supervise team members professionally during the course of the work day.

Must be able to write English legibly and possess sufficient verbal and written communication skills necessary to complete assigned tasks.

Must possess a valid driver’s license and be authorized for WSI vehicle insurance coverage.

Demonstrated ability and application of housecleaning methods.

Must have the ability to change work priorities to best accommodate customer needs.

Working knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook preferred and be able to learn resort lodging software for daily application.

Must be able to successfully use Streamline Software program to keep lodging department up to date with cleaning statuses

Must have a team player attitude and be able to work with people of diverse cultures and ethnicities.

Must be able to have an overall, big picture understanding of what needs to be done within the Housekeeping Department on any given day, and do what is necessary to accomplish these duties potentially without direct input from the Manager or Assistant Manager.

Must be able to work within the framework of the company and the department policies and procedures as set forth in the employee manuals.

Must be a self-starter and able to work independently with little supervision.

Specific Duties:

A courteous, helpful attitude will be displayed at all times toward all guests and employees.

Inspect properties to insure cleaning standards are met; correct or report problems as directed by Housekeeping Manager or Assistant Manager.

Report operating supply deficiencies to Housekeeping Management when daily supplies begin to run low, preferably before they run out.

Take general inventory of properties every time they are cleaned to ensure there are enough amenities for incoming guests – example: must notice if property that sleep 12+ people only has 2 wine glasses and make sure more are placed in property prior to guests arrival

Update Clean/Dirty/Stripped status in Streamline throughout the day

Review daily housekeeping schedule and cross check for any relevant items from Housekeeping Shelf labeled to go back into properties without it being specifically called out on schedule.

Must bag and label all laundry and items removed from properties.

In the absence of the team Managers:

- direct the housekeeping staff in his/her section daily

- ensure units are ready for check in prior to guest arrival daily

- complete necessary daily tasks in Streamline

Report damage to properties or buildings, maintenance needs, or any unsafe conditions immediately upon discovery.

Be knowledgeable of the use and hazards of the chemicals used and be alert to the actions of other staff in this regard.

Assist the Manager in training of other housekeeping staff, both seasonal and full time, local and international

Clean properties after departures, clean common areas, provide housekeeping services during occupancies, and perform deep cleaning services in the shoulder seasons

Per WSI Vehicle Insurance standards: must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to be added to WSI’s vehicle insurance policy.

Subject to WSI’s Alcohol and Controlled Substance Abuse Policy based on the nature of the position and related duties.

Drive company vehicles in the performance of daily duties, often in extreme weather conditions

A neat, clean appearance is expected at all times in accordance with the employee handbook.

Work Environment:

Moderate to extreme physical activity required by handling objects up to 20 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.

Ability to be on one’s feet for extended time periods up to 8 hours daily.

Requires heavy physical activity to include constant bending, stooping, lifting, climbing stairs and stretching.

Requires use of approved chemical cleaning agents on a daily basis. Cleaning supplies may require use of potentially hazardous chemicals. Proper training of the use of these chemicals will be provided and material safety data sheets will be available for each chemical used in the workplace.

Drive company vehicles in the performance of daily duties and be authorized for WSI vehicle insurance coverage.

Flexibility in schedule changes on short notice is required

Job will require working weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Must give 2 weeks+ notice when requesting Vacation or Holiday time off.

Ability to work under varying weather conditions, often extreme in nature.

Non-smoking environment.

Safety & Wellness:

All team members must be on constant alert for any unsafe conditions and work behaviors. This will involve, but not be limited to, periodic inspections of work and public areas. Follow up notification will be done to correct the condition or practice at the earliest possible opportunity
