Wanted:
Well rounded mechanic to work in our GSE (ground service equipment) shop. The GSE mechanics are responsible for all maintenance (preventative, daily and routine) as well as all minor & major repairs, troubleshooting, overhauling and modifying of:
*Light, medium and heavy duty vehicles
*Electric vehicles, lawn mowers and snow blowers
*Fluid pumps and piping, hydraulic pumps, motors and valves
*Generators and inverters, DC voltages as high as 48v and AC as high as 480v
*Gas and diesel engines, manual, automatic and hydrostatic transmissions
*Potable water and lavatory servicing carts, HVAC carts
*Pneumatic and electric process controls
*Building maintenance, diesel fired boilers
Other responsibilities and expectations include:
*Perform scheduled Preventative Maintenance Inspections (PMI's)
*Complete GSE paperwork as required.
*Prepare service reports, maintain vehicle records, and update equipment records.
*Keep tools and support equipment in a safe and operational working condition
*Practice good housekeeping, tool control and safety at all times
*Adhere to all company policies, procedures and standards
*Work in adverse weather conditions when needed
*Perform quality control checks and any other duties as assigned
*Must be able to work one weekend day
Qualifications:
*All applicants MUST be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening, driving record and criminal background checks!
*Valid driver license
*High School Diploma or GED
*Ability to work well under pressure
*Effective communication skills (verbal and written)
*Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedural manuals
*Must be able to lift, push, pull or move up to 75lbs and /or more
*Proficient computer skills: Excel, Word, and Email
*Must provide basic hand tools required to perform essential job functions
*Knowledge of airport Ground Service Equipment (GSE) and airport operations is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate
$18.00 + hourly D.O.E.
